Kozminski University, represented by Rector Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek, Ph.D., and the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, represented by District Prosecutor Dr. Michał Mistygacz, have signed a cooperation agreement to support the practical training of future legal professionals. This important initiative strengthens the relationship between academia and law enforcement agencies, with the goal of enhancing the practical competencies of law students and promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.

The agreement provides for a wide range of joint educational activities – including meetings and workshops led by prosecutors – as well as student internships and traineeships within the prosecutor’s office, collaborative research and teaching projects on the operations of law enforcement bodies, and other initiatives aimed at fostering social responsibility within the legal profession.

This collaboration not only gives students a better understanding of the role of the prosecutor’s office in a modern rule-of-law state but also provides them with direct contact with legal practitioners who shape the everyday realities of criminal proceedings.

“We want future lawyers to understand not only legal provisions, but also the institutions that implement them,” emphasizes Dr. Michał Mistygacz, District Prosecutor in Warsaw. “Our cooperation with Kozminski University is not just an investment in future professionals, but also an opportunity to build trust between prosecutors and society. We want to be present in the academic space as partners in a dialogue on values, responsibility, and the mission of the prosecutorial profession.”

Rector Prof. Grzegorz Mazurek underlines the importance of integrating practical experience into legal education: “Today’s legal challenges demand that young lawyers possess not only theoretical knowledge but also the ability to operate within real, often complex institutional contexts,” says Prof. Mazurek. “This agreement with the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office is another step toward an educational model that combines academic excellence with practical experience and public accountability.”

The signed agreement aligns with Kozminski University’s broader strategy for legal education, which emphasizes the development of social competencies, a deep understanding of complex legal processes, and an ethical approach to legal practice. It also responds to the growing expectations of students who seek education that addresses the real needs of both the job market and public institutions looking for highly qualified and socially conscious professionals.
