The Warsaw Science Festival Team has been awarded the Grand Prize in the 21st edition of Poland’s nationwide Science Popularizer competition. The award was presented during a gala held at the Polish Press Agency (PAP) Press Centre. The competition is organised by the Science in Poland service, published by the Polish Press Agency Foundation.
The jury recognised the festival for its pioneering science popularisation efforts and their wide reach, as well as for creating – nearly 30 years ago – a new, large-scale opportunity for the public to engage with science, and for consistently maintaining high quality over the years.
Kozminski University is a co-organiser of the Warsaw Science Festival and sees this award as a meaningful confirmation that long-term, consistent work to make knowledge accessible has a real impact and is widely recognised. The University’s engagement was strongly reflected in the most recent edition: over nine days, Kozminski University’s campus hosted vibrant encounters with science, including more than 50 school sessions, 14 open lectures (covering, among others, economics, psychology, cybersecurity, geopolitics and art), and an expert debate titled “Poland’s golden age – will our economy maintain its position as a growth leader?”, hosted at the University of Warsaw.
The Kozminski University community extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Warsaw Science Festival Team and thanks them for the opportunity to co-create an event that has, for years, brought science closer to the public in an open, accessible, and engaging way – consistently raising the bar for science communication in Poland.
