The academic journal Critique of Law. Independent Legal Studies, published by Kozminski University, has been included for the first time in the prestigious Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The newly assigned initial impact factor of 0.1 is a notable achievement and a rare distinction in Polish legal academia, where very few journals have received this metric to date.
Critique of Law combines classical dogmatic approaches with legal theory, philosophy, sociology, and empirical research. The editorial board emphasizes independent thinking, methodological openness, and international academic dialogue.
The journal is indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (Emerging Sources Citation Index) and is listed on the official journal list of the Polish Ministry of Education and Science (70 points). It is published in a Diamond Open Access model – free of charge for authors and fully accessible to readers. The Editor-in-Chief is Professor Jolanta Jabłońska-Bonca, Ph.D., D.Sc.
The receipt of its first impact factor confirms the high academic and editorial quality of Critique of Law.
The Kozminski University community extends its recognition and appreciation to the editorial team, authors, and reviewers – this is a shared success of a scholarly environment that believes law should not only be described, but also understood and reimagined in dialogue with reality.
