A new EUonAIR initiative has been launched to support people with a migration background in developing projects for impact in their countries of origin. The programme offers €200,000 in total funding, with support available for 10 project teams.
The EUonAIR Migrants Empowerment Program has been launched under the “Scholarship Call for Social Remittances in Education and Civil Society.” It is designed to support initiatives based on social remittances, understood as the transfer of knowledge, skills, values, and good practices from migrants to their countries of origin.
The programme is open to participants affiliated with EUonAIR partner and associated institutions. Proposed projects should focus on education, innovation, and community development, with priority given to regions affected by conflict, crisis, or post-crisis recovery.
The total funding envelope amounts to €200,000, with 10 teams to be selected. Each team should consist of four members: one faculty representative, one administrative staff member, and two students. At least three of the four team members must come from a non-EU country. Multiple applications may be submitted by the same institution.
The application deadline is 1 June 2026. Full details, call documents, and the application form are available on the EUonAIR website.
