Dr Kinga B. Tchórzewska, representing the discipline of economics and finance, has been awarded a Scholarship for Outstanding Young Scientists by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education (SMN20 edition). The list of 228 recipients was officially published on June 26, 2025. Dr. K.B. Tchórzewska conducts her research at Kozminski University. Her work is interdisciplinary, covering areas such as energy economics, innovation, and green fiscal policy. She publishes in leading international journals, including Research Policy (ranked among the Financial Times Top 50). She is currently the Principal Investigator of the OPUS research grant funded by the National Science Centre (NCN) and participates in international research projects as a co-investigator. Her work has been cited in policy briefs and internal reports by major international institutions such as the United Nations, the OECD, the European Commission, the Green Fiscal Policy Network (IMF, UN, GIZ), and the World Bank—recognition that was positively noted by the expert committee reviewing applications in a national ministerial grant competition. The scholarship is awarded for a period of three years and is intended to support the continued academic development of researchers with significant scientific potential. In this nationwide competition, applications were assessed based on the quality of research output, innovation of the scientific agenda, and the demonstrated impact on the development of the discipline. The award highlights not only the individual accomplishments of Dr Tchórzewska but also the strong position of Kozminski University in the national research landscape and the active role of its young researchers in shaping the future of economic sciences.
