30.06.2025

The research paper titled “The AI CEO: Challenges to Leadership Theory and Practice”, co-authored by Professor Aleksandra Przegalińska and Professor Tamilla Triantoro (Quinnipiac University, USA), received the prestigious Best Research Paper Award at the International Conference on Technologies & Organization (ICTO 2025) held in La Rochelle, France.

The awarded paper explores the profound implications of artificial intelligence moving from a decision-support role to a decision-making position in management. The authors argue that traditional leadership theories – built around human agency – are insufficient in explaining governance led or shaped by algorithms. The paper introduces a new, interdisciplinary research agenda grounded in systems thinking, algorithmic governance, and innovative management methods.

ICTO is one of the leading international conferences focused on technology, organization, and the role of digital transformation in shaping contemporary models of governance and leadership.
