It is with great regret that we learned of Ingvar Kamprad's passing, he was the founder of IKEA and a doctor honoris causa of Kozminski University. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
Ingvar Kamprad was the author of innovative business solutions, which business school students around the world learn about and that have become a role model for many generations of managers. The millionaire, who lived modestly, did not expect prizes or awards. He was touched while receiving the title of doctor honoris causa of Kozminski University.
He will remain in our memory as the author of simple, effective recommendations for entrepreneurs:
Learn to love hard work.
Do not give up.
Treat problems like challenges.
Choose employees so that they fill your gaps and convince them that they are important to the company.
Be willing to admit mistakes, we all commit them.
Ingvar Kamprad received an honorary doctorate from our University during a special ceremony on October 4, 2013. He was honored for his outstandingly innovative achievements in the development of a modern supply chain and the restructuring of the Polish furniture industry.
