From 19 to 28 September 2025, Kozminski University once again took part as a co-organizer of the Science Festival – the oldest and largest event promoting science in Poland.
For nine days, the Kozminski campus was full of life – hosting lectures, classes, and discussions that combined a passion for knowledge with openness to a diverse audience. This year, university organized:
- over 50 lessons for school groups,
- 14 open lectures on topics such as economics, psychology, cybersecurity, geopolitics, and art,
- a special event – the expert debate “The Polish Golden Age – will our economy maintain its leading growth position?”, prepared in cooperation with the University of Warsaw.
In total, more than 2,000 participants attended the events hosted by Kozminski University – from curious school pupils and engaged students to adults and seniors eager to learn. The open lecture series alone attracted 375 participants, with record-breaking attendance at the sessions of Prof. Lechosław Garbarski and Dr. Dorota Mackenzie.
Science that connects generations
Everything that happened on campus during the Science Festival would not have been possible without the involvement of over 70 lecturers, who not only shared their expertise but also created an atmosphere of inspiration, dialogue, and discovery. Thanks to their energy, the university became a place where science truly connects generations and helps us better understand the world around us.
The open lecture program
Throughout the nine festival days, the university hosted meetings with scholars and experts. The audience could learn, among other things: what legal responsibilities we face online, how economics relates to physics, biology, and medicine, what hidden rules shape business, how Freemasonry works, who ethical hackers are, and what the future of the economy might look like in light of geopolitical changes. Speakers included Prof. Katarzyna Chałubińska-Jentkiewicz, Prof. Adam Noga, Dr. Dorota Mackenzie, Prof. Lechosław Garbarski, Prof. Bogdan Księżopolski, and Prof. Grzegorz W. Kołodko.
Special debate – the economy in times of challenge
The highlight of the program was the debate “The Polish Golden Age – will our economy maintain its leading growth position?”, held on 27 September in cooperation with the University of Warsaw. The discussion was moderated by Dr. hab. Jacek Tomkiewicz, Prof. KU, Dean of the College of Finance and Economics. Panelists included Prof. Łukasz Hardt (University of Warsaw), Dr. Małgorzata Starczewska-Krzysztoszek (University of Warsaw, Polish Economists Association), and Dr. Michał Kurtyka (Kozminski University, former Minister of Climate and Environment). Experts discussed whether Poland can maintain its current pace of growth in the face of geopolitical, climate, energy, and demographic challenges.
The organizers would like to sincerely thank all participants and partners for their joint effort and inspiration. Once again, the Science Festival proved that science is open to everyone – and inspires us to ask questions that truly matter.
