Kozminski University Doctoral School – International Collaboration Hub

Project is financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange under the STER program (2024).
PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The Project aims to develop and further internationalise KU's doctoral school - KUDoS. These activities are in line with the University's mission to intensify internationalisation and scientific research. As part of the Project, it is planned to attract foreign doctoral students, offer scholarships to the best students from both Poland and abroad, and provide foreign mobility for outstanding doctoral students. In addition, the project provides the internationalisation of the education process and the development of international cooperation between doctoral schools.
Improving the quality of education and scientific research thanks to the support of doctoral students and the internationalization of the KUDoS will be achieved through the implementation of comprehensive tasks: I-Recruitment of foreign PhD students II-Scholarship program III-Organization of foreign scientific internships IV-Supporting international doctoral projects V-Internationalization "at home" VI-Confirmation of qualifications and competences of doctoral students.

TARGET GROUP
The target group of Project is both current and future KUDoS doctoral students (30 participants, 16F/14M), as well as academic staff (24 persons, 10F/14M) involved in conducting research and accompanying doctoral students in their development. Young researchers need access to international databases, financial support for research and mobility abroad, and opportunities to cooperate with foreign experts.
EXPECTED RESULTS
The implementation of the Project will contribute to achieving - in the short and long term - the goals of KUDoS in the field of internationalization thanks to:
- implementation of KU's strategic assumptions related to the internationalization of KUDoS,
- increasing the recognition of KU as an internationally important research center,
- developing contacts with partner universities and universities associated in networks, e.g. EDAMBA and GNAM,
- doctoral students establishing and developing cooperation with the most outstanding scientists in order to become part of the academic community and use the potential of schools,
- educating doctoral students who may become KU's teaching and research staff in the future and contribute to the development of social sciences through their activities in research and science,
- development and inclusion of standards for verifying the acquisition of competences and qualifications in the system for assessing the scientific progress of doctoral students,
- preparing staff to conduct high-quality international research,
- increasing the involvement of researchers from leading research centers in education at KU,
- developing and implementing international standards for admitting professors and visiting doctoral students,
- using the experience resulting from the STER project to improve the quality of education at KUDoS.
