Legal Challenges of Disruptive Technologies
We are pleased to invite all interested scholars to submit their proposals to the second annual edition of the
International Scientific Workshop “Legal Challenges of Disruptive Technologies”,
which will be hosted by the Kozminski University in Warsaw, on November 7-8, 2024.
The workshop is organized in collaboration with the University of Palermo, Masaryk University, Cyber & Data Security Lab (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), University of Liverpool (School of Law & Social Justice), Warsaw University of Technology, Universidad Militar Nueva Granada and the AI LAW TECH Foundation.
We will explore the legal challenges posed by developing and deploying disruptive technologies, including:
· Artificial intelligence
· Robotics
· Smart contracts
· Internet of Things
· Space technology
· Quantum technology
· Neurotechnology
Our aim is to discuss the legal complexities that surround rapidly evolving technologies and to propose practical solutions for dealing with them from national, international or comparative perspectives.

REGISTRATION FORM
The objectives of the workshop are as follows:
a) For the authors of each draft paper to receive feedback, allowing for verification of the presented theses, while informing the preparation of the final paper for publication in a joint scientific publication;
b) The joint publication of a paper that is composed of the full texts of those presented papers that have been received positively;
c) The integration and networking of the legal community concerned with the legal challenges presented by new technologies, in particular, AI & quantum technology; and
d) The creation of a network of scientific institutions and researchers interested in new technologies.We encourage the submission of abstracts on the legal aspects of disruptive technologies, especially AI & Quantum Technology.
We particularly welcome speakers wishing to discuss disruptive technologies in the context of:
· Intellectual property law · Human rights · Privacy & personal data protection · Cybersecurity law · Consumer protection · Contract law · Legal aspects of data · Sustainability and digital transformation · Legal aspects of healthcare · Open source licenses · Liability · Litigation · Telecommunication & space law
Our workshop will follow the outlined plan:
● The extended abstracts selected for presentation during the workshop will be sent to all workshop participants, so that adequate time is available for preparation for active participation in the workshop.
● Participants will present their papers (for around 15 minutes per presentation) and receive a feedback from the other workshop participants, including experienced professors chairing thepanels.
● Based on the feedback received, the workshop participants will prepare their final papers, intended for publication.
● After receiving a positive review, the final papers will be published in a joint scientific publication (in the form of a book).
The workshop will be held in English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
We invite individuals from the following backgrounds to participate in the workshop:
- PhD candidates and PhD holders,
- adjunct professors,
- lecturers,
- independent researchers,
- practitioners interested in the legal challenges of disruptive technologies, including AI & quantum technologies.

SCHEDULE (First edition):
• 27.10.2023 to 28.10.2023 - Workshop • 10 March 2024 - Deadline for submitting the first draft of the paper • March 10 - 30 May 2024 - Blind peer review process • 15 June 2024 – Deadline for submitting the final paper
FEES There is a fee for participation in the workshop.
On-site participation:
a) active participation (presentation of a paper) - 140 EUR b) passive participation (without presenting a paper) - 170 EUR
Online participation: a) passive participation (without presenting a paper) - 70 EUR The on-site participation fee includes:
a) The provision of refreshments during coffee breaks, b) Lunch on the first and second day of the workshop c) Admission to the gala dinner following the close of the first day of the workshop.
