ECSECO Summer School 2026 – Space Commercialisation & Security
Coming soon to Kozminski University in Warsaw, the ECSECO Summer School 2026 is an international educational program bringing together participants from across Europe to explore one of the most dynamic areas of today’s economy: space commercialisation and security.
The event will take the form of an intensive 3-day course, focusing on the intersection of business, defence, and regulatory frameworks. The programme combines expert-led sessions, interactive workshops, and case studies, enabling participants to develop practical skills needed to operate in the rapidly evolving space economy ecosystem.
ECSECO Summer School stands out for its strong emphasis on applied knowledge and international collaboration, offering a platform for exchange between academia, industry, and public sector representatives.
PROGRAMME
- Day 1: From Market to Mission
Participants will explore the structure of the European space market, investor perspectives, and the role of dual-use technologies. During the hands-on Case Lab “Dual-use decision tree”, they will tackle real-world challenges such as IP protection, cybersecurity, and market readiness.
- Day 2: Security as a Market Driver
The second day focuses on the role of regulation, compliance, and cyber resilience in shaping space ventures. The interactive “Compliance-to-customer map” workshop demonstrates how regulatory frameworks impact costs, time-to-market, and access to defence sector clients.
- Day 3: Where Space Meets Defence
Participants will examine the growing convergence of the space and defence sectors, as well as pathways for companies entering defence markets. The final Case Lab will focus on strategies for entering the space-defence ecosystem.
WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAMME UNIQUE
- Keynotes from experts representing ESA, public administration, and industry (including the Polish Ministry of Defence and ICEYE)
- Hands-on workshops translating theory into practice
- Case studies based on real-world market challenges
- Opportunities to build an international network within the space economy
By the end of the programme, participants will not only understand the mechanisms of the space economy but also gain the practical skills needed to navigate it effectively.
