ABIS Annual Colloquium 2023
In today's world, we face a myriad of interconnected crises — from climate and demographic shifts to social, pandemic, and ecological challenges. We are delving deeper into the idea of 'permacrisis', which refers to the persistent overlap of these crises, and 'polycrisis', highlighting their intertwined and interdependent nature. Amidst these challenges, there's a rising tide of organizations championing a sustainable future and advocating for climate justice. Positive changes are evident, both globally and locally, in the strategies of leading corporations, the initiatives of smaller businesses, impact startups, consumer preferences, management education, and policy-making at all levels of governance. On November 14-15, 2023, Kozminski University is hosting the Academy of Business in Society (ABIS) global annual colloquium, themed Navigating Multiple Transitions. This assembly of leading business school representatives and global business leaders aims to forge a clear direction through complex challenges. Leveraging insights from global research centres, visionary company executives, and impactful startup founders, we'll construct a blueprint for responsible and ethical transitions.
ABIS's annual conferences, hosted at premier European universities, convene a diverse group of scholars, educators, business managers, experts, NGOs, and policymakers. Our goal is to empower the current and next generation to navigate intertwined transformations with efficacy, ethics, and responsibility, creating value for all stakeholders and the broader society.
The conference will feature best practices in responsible governance for global ESG challenges, discussions on sustainable finance products and decarbonisation strategies in light of the climate crisis, and insights into organizational culture transformation focusing on diversity and ethics in digital tech. Together, we'll dissect today's pressing challenges, understanding their repercussions on businesses and educational institutions, and channel this knowledge towards fostering a sustainable future.
