Center’s mission is to conduct research on the impact of industry 4.0 on strategic renewal through business model innovation, disseminate this knowledge and facilitate its implementation in business.
We seek to understand the approach to and mechanisms of innovation (traditional and/or open) through which firms actively seek ways to transform or substantially upgrade their business models to increase chances of long-term survival and international competitiveness. We adopt a contingency approach to understand which renewal journeys are most successful in terms of sustainable and profitable growth and why.
We focus on firms operating in industries of different technological intensity, exposed to different value migration patterns, resulting from the fourth industrial revolution i.e. Industry 4.0, a ‘smart’ industry and of different size.
