Professor Dominika Wojtowicz teaches in the Department of Economics. She received scholarships from the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Siena, Italy, and the Department of Management at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, Spain. Her scientific interests focus on the effectiveness of public interventions aimed at strengthening regional and local development. She gained practical experience in such projects as the PARTITEA project coordinated by the European Movement International (Brussels), the COCOPS project “Coordinating for Cohesion in the Public Sector of the Future” implemented within the Seventh Framework Program of the European Commission, and the MUS “Ministerstwa Uczące Się” (Ministries That Learn) project implemented by the Centre for European Regional and Local Studies EUROREG of the University of Warsaw. For several years, she has been an expert involved in the evaluation of research projects and programs financed by the European Union. She gives expert opinions for public administration institutions such as the Ministry of Investment and Economic Development and Voivodeship Marshals’ Offices. She coordinated research on modern methods and tools of evaluation for specific areas of public intervention in the studies “Nowoczesne metody pomiaru oddziaływania inwestycji infrastrukturalnych oraz taborowych w transporcie” (Modern Methods of Measuring the Level of Impact of Infrastructural and Rolling Stock Investments in Transport) and “Adaptacja metodologii pomiaru efektu netto interwencji publicznych do potrzeb sektora infrastruktury transportowej” (Adaptation of the Methodology for Measuring the Net Effect of Public Interventions to the Needs of Transport Infrastructure Sector), but also in studies of evaluation application in the management of operational programs in Poland and Spain.
