Marcin Wardaszko, Ph.D., teaches in and heads the Department of Quantitative Methods and Information Technology and the MBA IT program at Kozminski University, but also holds the position of Visiting Professor at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences. He is a representative and trainer of Riva Solutions GmbH in Poland and East Asia. He is a collaborator in HCD Learning Ltd in Shanghai, China, and a Digital Game-Based Learning expert at Poland’s NASK National Research Institute. Since 2003, Wardaszko has been a trainer and creator of simulation games and gamification systems for education, business, and consulting. He authored many publications on game-based learning and serious game design. Passionate about game design, he authored and co-authored about sixty scientific publications. He is a Fellow in the Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning and a member of the Swiss Austrian German Simulation and Gaming Association. In 2019–2020, Wardaszko was the President of the International Simulation and Gaming Association. He represented Poland in the project COST Action CA18230 entitled “Interactive Narrative Design for Complexity Representations.” He is the laureate of the CEEMAN 2019 Champion in Teaching Award for his innovative learning program based on a VR game. He actively teaches, researches, and publishes about video games and their application in research, teaching, and engaging people. He is an enthusiastic supporter of games and gamification and a member of a gamification expert network; he believes that games and gamification will change how people learn and work.
