Scholarship and Training Fund was created on the basis of Memorandum of Understanding of implementing of Financial Mechanism EEA 2009-2014 between Iceland, Liechtenstein, Kingdom of Norway and Poland, as well as on the basis of Memorandum of Understanding of implementing of Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 between Kingdom of Norway and Poland.
Three countries of EFTA (European Free Trade Association) which are also members of the EEA (European Economic Area) i.e. Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, have offered to Poland non-refundable financial aid involving two instruments known as the EEA Grants and the Norway Grants.
The main purpose of the Fund will be to reduce the social and economic disparities within the European Economic Area and to strengthen bilateral relations between Poland, Norway, Liechtenstein and the Kingdom of Norway in the area of education.
The aim of the Fund will be enhancement of the human capital and knowledge base through:
• increased higher education staff and students mobility between Poland and donor-states,
• increased and strengthened institutional cooperation and partnership at all levels of the education sector (schools, higher education, vocational training/education and adult education) between Poland and donor-states.

Exchange of academic staff is designed to enable the exchange of good practices related to the process of education and the quality of education and thereby improve both the curriculum and quality assurance systems.
In academic year 2015/2016 KU students are invited to apply for international exchange at partner universities:

Within the project the funding is provided for 14 or 17 weeks of stay depending on the country and the receiving institution.

Any institution which may participate in any of the actions under the STF, including institutions in Donor States, can apply for funding for visits. For formal reasons, it is the institution which applies, not individuals.

Within Inter-Institutional Cooperation institutions from Poland and Donor States engaged in formal education may implement bilateral and multilateral projects.
International network supporting research and knowledge transfer as a platform of cooperation between Polish and Norwegian Universities
The aim of this project is to build Polish-Norwegian platform of research cooperation by: elaboration of a model of research project management and knowledge transfer for Polish Universities, defining common research areas/fields for the future, the improvement of the principles of research cooperation including the settlement of international research network. Partners are interested in research cooperation, and for this purpose they signed a Letter of Intent that settles Network Supporting Research and Knowledge Transfer.
The objectives of this project are consisted with activities of creating interdisciplinary, interuniversities and international research teams.
Within the project scope the following tasks are planned:
Unique, graduate two-year program in management studies - Management in Virtual Environments. The studies will be offered free of charge to 20 highly selected candidates. The program is aimed at preparing “digitally native” students for the role of managers and specialists ready to take advantage of Internet and network technologies in creating competitive advantage of an enterprise. The greatest value of the program is to provide the students with the mix of the top quality managerial courses with the specialized courses linked with internet and technology influence on contemporary management.
