•    master's degree in the field of application of quantitative methods in banking
and economics (last year master students may also apply if they obtain a master's degree before taking up employment), the assistant professor position requires a doctoral degree in the field of economics or finance,
•    knowledge of statistical and econometric methods and/or machine learning,
•    knowledge of statistical software (Stata, Statistica, Mathematica, eViews), knowledge of R and Python would be welcome,
•    experience in conducting practical classes employing financial econometrics would be welcome,
•    published scientific papers in national and international scientific journals, including at least one publication in a journal with IF for the assistant professor position - a necessary condition,
•    documented knowledge of English at level C1 / C2, determined in accordance with the European System of Description of Language Education,
•    orientation on scientific work and publications, ability to work in a team, independence in the implementation of tasks.

Tasks performed on the job:
•    conducting classes in accordance with the number of didactic hours assigned to a given position in the academic year, including conducting classes in English,
•    conducting research work in the scientific area agreed upon with the department head,
•    performing administrative tasks specified by the department head.

Kozminski University  is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor in Accounting to preferably begin on September 2019. Candidates must demonstrate high research and teaching potential with the motivation to engage in research projects on a team and individual basis.
The position is based on Kozminski University campus in Warsaw, Poland.

Main responsibilities of the appointee:
•    Publish in peer-reviewed journals
•    Teach and develop new courses at different levels in Accounting. Our teaching programmes
   hold ACCA and CIMA accreditations
•    Supervise MSc and PhD students
•    Participate to the institutional school life (internal / external)

•    Hold a PhD in Accounting/Finance or a related field
•    Publications in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals
•    Research in one or more specialization areas of current faculty members

About you:
A successful candidate should have a strong academic record matching the position they are applying for. In the case of an associate and full professor ranks, a strong publication record in the JCR-listed journals and the leading academic publishers, as well as proven successful grant applications track are expected, adequate for the career stage.

Fluency in Polish is not a requirement, but in the long run can be useful. If you do not speak Polish, we would certainly hope that you will be willing to learn it.

-    combined educational background from different fields or documented research experience in both qualitative and quantitative projects,
-    strong academic orientation,
-    good presentation and teaching skills,
-    documented academic interests related to studying online communities.

We do not restrict the background of candidates to a particular field, as we believe that good research can be inspired and developed from different angles. However, we understand that the position may appeal particularly to people doing research in management, organization studies, sociology, anthropology, media studies, information science, or digital humanities.
