The conference will take place on November 18-19, 2013 at the premises of the Kozminski University in Warsaw. It will bring together scholars from a variety of disciplinary and methodological perspectives interested in advancing research on corporate sustainability and eco-innovation. It should provide a forum for business and academics to grapple with some of the most pressing problems facing businesses all over the world, and the new horizons coming from business to fill a wide range of expectations concerning sustainable development and eco-innovation.
Prof. Gary Cook, University of Liverpool
Gary Cook is Professor of Economics and Head of Economics, Finance and Accounting at the University of Liverpool Management School. His principal areas of research are industrial clusters, with particular emphasis on media industries and financial services, multinational location, innovation and internationalization. He also researches in the area of law and economics, focusing on the insolvency and turnaround of small firms. He has consulted to the oil industry on the implications of clean energy production.
Prof. Mark Davis, Bentley University
Mark M. Davis is Professor of Operations Management at Bentley College in Waltham, MA. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for the General Electric Company and is a graduate of its Manufacturing Management Program. He was also a programs manager for the U.S. Army Natick Research Laboratories, where he focused on the design of military foodservice systems. Dr. Davis' primary research interest is service operations management with emphasis on customer waiting time issues. He has published articles in this area in several journals, including The Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences, The Journal of Services Marketing, The Journal of Business Forecasting, OM Review, The International Journal of Production and Operations Management, The Euro-Asia Journal of Management and The International Journal of Service Industry Management. Dr. Davis is also the co-author of two textbooks: Operations Management: Integrating Manufacturing and Services, (McGraw-Hill/Irwin, 2005, 5th edition, with Janelle Heineke), and Managing Services: Using Technology to Create Value (McGraw-Hill/Irwin, 2003, with Janelle Heineke). Dr. Davis is currently Vice-President at Large for the Decision Sciences Institute. He also served as Program Chair for the 2003 Annual Meeting, Secretary and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Decision Sciences Institute, and is a Past President of the Northeast Decision Sciences Institute.
Prof. Lech W. Zacher, Kozminski University
Prof. Lech W. Zacher, Ph.D. is economist, sociologist and futurist. He is Director of Center of Impact Assessment Studies and Forecasting, Kozminski University (Warsaw, Poland). He is Member of the Futures Research Committee “Poland 2000 Plus” at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the interdisciplinary journal “Transformations”. Author of several books and many articles on information society, global problems and the future.
Douglas Lloyd, CEO and Co-Founder, Clean Energy Pipeline
Douglas is responsible for Clean Energy Pipeline’s key client accounts as well as the
overall sales and membership functions. He also manages many of the company’s
bespoke research projects.
Mr Lloyd is a regular panellist and speaker in Europe and North America in the Clean Energy sector with leading organisations including IBF, Dow Jones and Euromoney. Douglas is also a regular contributor to publications including the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Economist.
Prior to founding the company, Douglas worked in corporate finance and private equityin London, Paris and New York. He began his career at HSBC Investment Bank and thenjoined Close Brothers Corporate Finance where he worked in London and Paris. Prior to founding VB/Research he was Head of European Investment Banking at WR Hambrecht + Co. in New York. At Close Brothers, Douglas was the fund manager for the highly successful First Close Technology Fund, which invested in companies including Active Hotels and Bango.
Douglas is a modern history graduate from Exeter University. He also holds a corporate finance diploma (MSI) from the Securities & Investment Institute.

The organizers will select up to 12 papers of the highest quality for a monograph to be published as an issue of The International Journal of Environmental Studies in April 2014.
Also the International Journal of Environmental Technology and Management will devote a special edition to this conference.
Kozmiński University is seated in the north-east of Warsaw, at Jagiellonska st. 57/59 between the Gdański Bridge and the Grot-Rowecki Bridge.
