The scope of activities

We support the Best

Scholarship programme

In the period 2005-2014, the Foundation granted scholarships and awards in the total amount of PLN 420,000.00. According to the will of the Founder and the Board of the Foundation, the support may be granted to the most gifted students and employees of Kozminski University.

In the pursuit of our objectives, we focus on supporting young people interested in their own development, learning, and professional and social challenges.

To this end, we have created a scholarship fund to support both the current and the future students of Kozminski University. Thanks to this fund, we have an opportunity to aid talented people who are open to knowledge and new possibilities, but also those who wish to receive education at the best business school but may be unable to afford it.

Each year, thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, we can offer our support to those who need it to pursue their ambitious goals! We grant subsidies for education, scientific activities, and participation in prestigious competitions and conferences. We also endorse international and team-building initiatives in particular. You are welcome to make yourself familiar with our regulations and application forms for persons applying to the Kozminskis Foundation for a scholarship - the regulations and the application forms for a given year are given in the ‘news’ section. Applications can be submitted in rooms A/16 or D/104 at ul. Jagiellońska 59, by 31 October of every commenced academic year.

In the period 2015-2016 alone we managed to distribute 64 scholarships amounting to over 139,000 zloty.

Thanks to such activities, WE BUILD THE FUTURE TOGETHER, according to the Foundation’s watchword. Our sincere congratulations to all scholarship holders, wishing them every success in their further pursuit of education.

Small grants

Support for children and youth, funded awards

Small grants benefit mainly initiatives that support social activity and entrepreneurship among children and youth.

We act chiefly through partnerships with other institutions, believing that together we are able to achieve more and respond to the needs of our beneficiaries in a more comprehensive manner.
Year by year, the Foundation manages to allot an increasing amount of both financial and human resources to Small Grants. The initiative embraces many wonderful volunteers involved in turning the Foundation’s mission statement into action. They help us reach a growing number of places and people that we can support! In special cases, Small Grants may be awarded in the form of a one-off aid to improve the well-being of children and youth.

Recent initiatives supported by our Foundation:

  1. Support offered to Fundacja na rzecz Pomocy Dzieciom z Grodzieńszczyzny (EN: Foundation to Support Children from the Grodno Area) - read more in the ‘news’ section
  2. “Młodzież i filantropia” (EN: “Youth and philanthropy”) project

International integration

Projects

From 2011 to 2015, the Foundation, working with Kozminski University, organized as many as 4 editions of a project entitled “Poznaj nas. Poznaj siebie” (EN: “Get to know us. Get to know yourself"), co-financed from the resources of the European Fund for the Integration of Third-country Nationals.
The Foundation was responsible for integration between EU citizens and third-country nationals participating in Polish language and Polish history classes organized by Kozminski University.

Each subsequent edition of the project was more successful than the previous one! More and more people recognized the benefits of participation in integration meetings, took active part in those meetings, and shared valuable insights to help us improve the programme of integration continuously.

Each edition of the project came with a dedicated website featuring detailed information about the undertaken activities and the achieved outcomes.

Closer to science

Conferences, seminars, development of academic staff

Apart from providing KU’s most talented students and academic staff with means to take part in various conferences, the Foundation aims also at funding initiatives which introduce science to a wider public. To this end, the Foundation co-finances and raises funds for organization of conferences and seminars, and takes patronage over such events.

Since its early days, the Foundation has been co-organizing seminars entitled “Krytyczna Teoria Organizacji” (EN: “Critical Theory of Organization”), which contribute to the exchange of knowledge and experience among outstanding personalities invited to join the event by two accomplished scientists - prof. Witold Kieżun and prof. Wojciech Gasparski. There are 7 seminars taking place each year on average. You can find the latest updates at www.kozminski.edu.pl. You are also most welcome to take part in the seminar of your choice!

As for scientific events, we should definitely mention the “Management and economic policy for development” conference co-organized by the Foundation. The Foundation has also funded books awarded to authors of papers delivered at the scientific conference entitled “What is the future of the World – Economy, Society, Politics”, organized by Student’s Macroeconomics Club affiliated to TIGER Research Center.

In the period 2015-2016, the Foundation was also a patron of an event entitled POLMUN Warsaw - Academic Polish Model United Nations organized by students from various Warsaw-based universities, offering content-related and organizational support.

Through supporting worthy initiatives and entrepreneurial attitudes we are able to carry out our mission successfully!

Integration, activation

Joining forces

We act for integration of various backgrounds, making different entities and people join forces to change our world for the better. Examples of such activities include, among others, “Koalicja Jagiellońska” (EN: the “Jagiellońska Coalition”), an initiative aiming to improve the image of Praga Północ, the district where our Foundation is based, or a project entitled “Aktywne Miasto Rodzinne” (EN: “Active Family-Friendly City”), initiated to promote various ways in which families can spend their free time together, and establishment of “Grow Point”, an affiliate project for the initiation and development of start-ups. But the biggest initiative to activate and integrate our environment is a series of inspiring meetings addressed to education professionals and school directors, entitled “Nawigator Dobrych Praktyk” (EN: “Navigating through Good Practices”). The series aims to initiate a dialogue on the changes taking place in education, and to present various alternative methods of teaching.

So far, we have organized 4 such meetings, run by: Iwona Zatorska, Kamila Hernik, Karolina Malinowska, Anna Kobus-Olej, Katarzyna Nowak-Zawadzka, Robert Krool, Anna Samborska-Owczarek:

  1. 1st seminar - “Multiple Intelligences” - 23 May 2015
  2. 2nd seminar - “Parents and school: a fruitful cooperation” - 25 November 2015
  3. 3rd seminar - “Educating elites - from a utilitarian strategy in education to profitable functions...” - 15 June 2016
  4. 4th seminar - “Teacher’s thinking styles” - 23 November 2016

Together, we can do much more and shape the future better!

Support the Kozminskis Foundation

Dear Alumni,

I would like to invite you to support the Kozminski Foundation, whose founder is in fact one of the founders of Kozminski University, prof. Andrzej K. Kozminski, a longtime Rector of the University, and the person who entrusted the steering of the University into my hands.

The Foundation's mission is to actively promote the entrepreneurial spirit and initiate a cross-cultural exchange of experiences.

In pursuing its objectives we want to focus on supporting young people who are interested in their own development, learning, training and social challenges. To follow this mission we have created a scholarship fund, in which we want to dedicate scholarships to current and future students of Kozminski University. Thanks to these scholarships we will have a chance to give support to people, and are able to provide them with new knowledge, new capabilities, and the possibility to learn at the best business school including those that cannot afford it.

I believe that thanks to the work of the Foundation, supporting both students and young scientists will have the chance to work together to build a growing community centered around Kozminski University.

Any donation amount will be a helpful for students who would like to fulfill their dream.

I am counting on your support in this and as always open to suggestions from you.
