LIBRARY REGULATIONS

Regulations on the use of the Library collection of Kozminski University in force from 1 October 2007

(summary)

  

General Regulations
§1.
The Library of Kozmiinski University is an academic library.
§2. The Library Collection is available:
1. for use on the Library premises;
2. for local loans;
3. for inter-library loans.
§3. The following are eligible to use the Library materials for reference purposes on the Library premises:
1. staff members, students and participants of all types of studies run by Kozminski University;
2. graduates of Kozminski University;
3. students, staff members and doctoral students of other universities;
4. high school graduates.

§4. Staff members, students and participants of all types of studies run by Kozminski University are eligible to borrow from the Library.


Regulations on the use of the Book Collection and Journal Collection on the Library premises
§7.
The following materials are available exclusively for use on the Library premises:
1. books labeled "pozycja dostępna w Czytelni" (“item available in Reading Room”);
2. volumes of journals
3. dissertations

§8. In extraordinary cases, just before closing the Library, librarian on duty can borrow on security of personal ID a book mentioned in §2 item 1. Library user must return such book immediately after opoenign the Library again. A fine of 5 złoty will be charged for every hour of delay such book.

 

Book Borrowing Regulations
§10.
To borrow a book, a Library user must present a valid Library Card.
§11. Library Card holders are fully responsible for all the consequences of the loss of a Library Card incurred before the Library has been notified of the loss.
§12. For a replacement of a Library Card, a fee of 5 złoty will be charged.
§13. Library Cards are non-transferable.
§14. Library users must notify the Library of any change of name, address, faculty or mode of studies.
§15. Students pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree may borrow a maximum of 5 books for up to
28 days.
§16. Participants of postgraduate courses and final-year students, that is: third-year students of Bachelor’s program, fifth-year students of five-year Master’s program and second-year students of the two-year Master’s program, may borrow 7 books for up to 42 days. Library users will be granted an extended loan limit if they notify the Library that they are final-year students.
§17. Doctoral students and participants of MBA courses may borrow a maximum of 7 books for up to
70 days.
§20. Library user can have on loan only one copy of a given book.
§22. If loans are not returned on time, a fine of 1.00 złoty per day will be charged on every overdue item.
§23. Library users holding overdue loans and/or with outstanding fines will have their right to borrow suspended until the overdue items are returned and the fines paid.
§25. The Library reserves the right to refuse to lend a book or to set a lending period different from the lending periods specified in paragraphs 15-18.

 

Final Regulations
§26.
Library users are fully responsible for all the Library materials they use. In the case of loss or damage of Library materials, the user is obliged either to replace the materials with identical copies or pay LKAEM triple value of the lost or damaged items (in current prices).
§27. Outdoor coats, luggage (with the exception of purses in sizes no more than 21x15x10 cm), food and drinks are forbidden in all Library rooms.
§28. Using mobile phones in the Library is prohibited.
§29. Persons willing to use a locker or a study room are required to leave a photo ID with the Loan Desk.
§30. Lockers and study rooms can be used only when the Library is open. A fine of 20 złoty will be charged for every day of delay in returning the key.
§31. Silence should be observed in all Library rooms with the exception of team-work rooms.
§33. In all order-related matters Library users are to observe requests of librarians on duty and/or security staff.
§34. Refuse to comply with Library regulations or submitting false information to the Library will result in a withdrawal of the right to use the Library.
§36. All complaints concerning the Library services are to be addressed to the Director of Library.
