Warsaw's municipal transport consists of trams, city buses, suburban buses and the underground (metro).
Buses and trams are the safest and the cheapest means of transport. You can use most of the lines between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays. Tickets are available in kiosks, ticket machines located at stops and can be purchased directly from the drivers. The night buses operate on limited routes only. They all begin in the city center and go outwards. This is their strating point every quarter past and quarter till the hour (11:15, 11:45 and so on).
A single ticket costs 1,40 PLN (students) and 2,80 PLN (regular). There is a possibility of buying 20 minute ticket, 24 hour ticket, daily, weekly or monthly ticket etc. all of which are valid for all public municipal transportation. Warsaw's underground has one line, which runs from the north to the south of the city. It operates between 5 a.m. and 11.15 p.m., and the trains run every 2-3 minutes during peak hours, and every 6-8 minutes afterwards. The nearest station to Kozminski University is Dworzec Gdański.
Taxis are available all day long. They charge lower fares between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. and higher fares between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. and on holidays (including Sundays). The cost of one kilometer during the day is 1.60PLN to 3.00PLN depending on the taxi corporation.
