“Summer School” 2017 – Doing business in Russia

Dear Students,

Saint Petersburg State University of Economics (UNECON) is glad to announce “Summer School” 2017 –Doing business in Russia, which will take place from 17th to 29th of July.

Program Content:  

lectures on Russian history in context of Global Economy, Competitive Strategies in  Russia, Marketing and Management; 

• field assignments (hostel, coffee house, fashion store, brewery, etc.);

 • excursions, tours, entertainment (The Hermitage,  St Peter & Paul Fortress, Peterhof, folk-show, etc.).

Program objectives:
The program is tailored to help students see Russia as a player in the global economy and to understand special characteristics of the Russian business environment; 

•  To develop skills in team working, marketing and business planning, students are supposed to work in groups on their own business projects within 2 weeks. 

• The projects will be focused on setting up an enterprise in the Russian market (travel agency, hotel, translating company, restaurant, etc.

Who is eligible:
The program is aimed at students from all over the world, who think outside the semester, want to get an experience of staying and learning in Russia and wish to gain an insight into the Russian mentality, culture and business climate.

Thus, in spirit of intensifying our collaboration, we would like to invite your students to participate in our International Summer Course entitled “SME Business in Indonesia : From Bali to the World”  (3 – 14 July 2017), focusing on Small and Medium Enterprise in Jakarta and Bali as well as our “Indonesia 101 – P2A Multi City Journey” (31 July – 9 August) which will bring you to 3 incredible cities in Indonesia to know more about our country, culture, history and other various aspects!

The Jakarta-Bali 2-week program, run in partnership between BINUS UNIVERSITY and Udayana University, in which one week will be conducted in the bustling city of Jakarta and one week will be spent in the exotic Bali. During the summer course, participants will experience the business courses and the beauty and culture of Jakarta and Bali and engage in an exciting project to create a business export plan for SMEs in Bali.

While for students who wish to know more about Indonesia are very much recommended to join the “Indonesia 101 – P2A Multi City Journey” as our collaboration with IBI Darmajaya Lampung and UII Yogyakarta. The students will travel through 5 provinces in Indonesia, visiting 3 major cities of Bandar Lampung, Jakarta and Jogjakarta. Students will learn Bahasa Indonesia, Indonesian Culture and visit various incredible places around the 3 cities, including an Elephant Conservation, an Amusement Garden where you can see “real Indonesian mini cultural exhibits”, an ACTIVE VOLCANO and the BIGGEST BUDDHIST TEMPLE in the world!

IBH Summer School 2017, Germany

Dear Students,

Intensive German language course and much more - your summer at Lake Constance

For international students starting their studies in the winter semester at one of the IBH universities (a network of universities in the Lake Constance area) as well as students from one of the University of Konstanz’s partner universities, a German intensive course is always offered in August. Participants receive instruction at their own language ability level - whether beginner, intermediate or advanced. In addition to the language courses, supplementary activities are offered in the afternoons and sometimes on the weekends. These include presentations on history, culture and politics as well as (city) tours and excursions throughout the Lake Constance region. The Bodensee Summer School is organised by the International Bodensee Hochschule (IBH) in cooperation with the University of Konstanz’s International Office and Language Institute (SLI).

The University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) welcomes our partners to select one student to participate in the 2017 Summer Exchange Program.  As part of our appreciation, UIW will not count one student towards the exchange balance.  Additional students may participate; however, the exchange balance will be noted.

HK PolyU: Global Youth Leaders Summit 2017

Dear Students,

We are delighted to inform you about PolyU’s upcoming event ‘Global Youth Leaders Summit 2017:Let’s Make the World a Better Place’.

The summit aims to gather young leaders of the world to share ideas and interact for a better world.  The theme of 2017 summit is ‘ Social Entrepreneurship’ and will be held on June 28-29, 2017.  Students are invited to present projects on social entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation or sustainable communities.  Apart from the student presentations, Professor Hau Lee of Stanford Graduate School will deliver a keynote speech and students will also visit local social enterprise.  The summit will conclude with a roundtable discussion where the students can discuss coming together in future for joint community and citizenship projects.

If you have done or plan to do projects in social entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation or sustainable communities and would like to share their experiences in the summit, they are more than welcome to apply.  Selected students will be offered roundtrip tickets (economy, between home city and Hong Kong) and accommodation during the event.

Three Nobels in Economics at the Iseo Summer School 2017 (Tirole, Maskin and Spence)

I.S.E.O Institute founded by Franco Modigliani and now chaired by Robert Solow (Nobel Laureates in Economics 1987) organizes an international graduate summer school featuring Nobel laureates in Economics.

The summer course is dedicated “The global economy: searching for a new equilibrium",  takes place in Iseo, near Milan, in Northern Italy.

Scholarships for the IESEG Summer Academy in Paris

Dear Students,

Greetings from IESEG School of Management and from Paris!

I have the pleasure to inform you that we are offering again this year a merit based scholarship program for the IESEG International Summer Academy and we strongly encourage all your qualified students to apply! This scholarship comes on top of the 10 % partner discount on the total program fee which is offered automatically to all your students.

The scholarship covers between 25% and 50% of the topic based courses fee, based on academic merit of the chosen candidate. No financial documentation is required.

Supporting documents to be submitted together with the attached form:

1)  Personal Statement (500 word count): Tell us about your academic interests and discuss any experience or extra-curricular activities that may be relevant. Describe the goals you hope to achieve while studying at the IESEG International Summer Academy in Paris.

2)  Curriculum vitae including all the details of previous experiences and the candidate’s background

3) Two sealed letters of recommendation from professors in the applicant’s field of study

4) Transcripts of the last two semesters (minimum GPA 3.0)

2017 SILC Summer School - From Jul. 3 to Jul. 21, 2017

Dear Students,

We are delighted to announce that the 2017 SILC Summer School is now open for applications.

The SILC Summer School has been held by SHU-UTS SILC BUSINESS SCHOOL each year since 2012. The aim of the summer school is to provide international students a first-hand economic, cultural and social experience of China. We now present you the 2017 SILC Summer School, and welcome your students to join us!

Time: July 3rd – July 21st, 2017 (3rd Week Optional)

Location: Shanghai of the first 2 weeks, and Beijing of the 3rd week

Application deadline: May 10th, 2017

 

Program Attractions:

- Mentor and One-to-one Buddy Scheme

SILC International Office will allocate a colleague as a mentor and an individual Chinese student as a “buddy” who will assist the international students throughout the Summer School.

- Chinese Cultural Activities

In the first 2 weeks, a range of experiences such as kite calligraphy, Tachi, and Martial arts will be offered. There will also be a variety of tours to scenic spots in or near Shanghai.

- 3rd Week—Beijing Tour (Optional)

As a new development in 2017, students will have the chance to visit Beijing, capital of China. 

- Business Experience

The combination of local company visits with academic lectures enables students to obtain a better understanding of the Chinese macroeconomic condition.

- Certificate

On completion of the summer school, students will be awarded a Summer School Certificate from SILC Business School, and be granted 5 credits and an official transcript from SILC.

Program Fee and Discount

We will provide our partner university with the following discount scheme of the first 2 weeks program fee:

1. 10% for 1 to 4 students

2. 20% for 5 to 10 students

3. 30% for 11 or more students.

And the 3rd week fee cannot be waived.

IESEG Summer programs in Paris - Application open

Dear Students,

Greetings from Paris and IESEG School of Management!

I am pleased to inform you that applications are now open for both of the IESEG Summer programs.

You will find below and attached information on the two summer opportunities which we will be offering in July 2017:

1)      IESEG International Summer Academy (July 1-28) focuses on Global Business and Management and awards up to 12 ECTS. Students from all over the world with very diverse academic backgrounds enjoy every year IESEG’s academic excellence and French “art de vivre”. I am happy to confirm that your students will automatically benefit a 10% partner discount on the total program fee. Therefore the total program fee would be only 2871 euros (instead of 3190 euros) for the full program of 5 courses (72 contact hours, 8 ECTS) , an intensive French language course (30 contact hours, 4 ECTS), accommodation in single room, extracurricular activities etc. And 2385 euros (instead of 2650 euros) for students who do not want to sign up for the French language course.

2)      International Fashion Business Summer Program (July 1-16) provides students with basic knowledge in all of the key areas associated with the fashion business including brand development and positioning, digital marketing, retail, advertising, and consumer behavior. The fee for this program is 2160 euros (instead of 2400) including courses, company visits and activities, as well as accommodation in single room and a public transportation pass.

Please note that in case you send 10 or more students we remove the administrative fee for each student and we offer the accommodation during one week for a coordinator from your university.

"Doing Business in Chile & Latin America" - FEN SUMMER SCHOOL 2017

The FEN Summer School 2017 will take place in Santiago de Chile from 5th to 21st July and it would be an honour to welcome KU students on our campus during this intensive international program.

The FEN Summer School is designed to enable participants to thoroughly explore the business opportunities, dynamics and challenges in Chile and Latin America.
