On October 27, 2017, the DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER DEBATE took place. Active and former politicians met in our University to discuss the current state of the Polish economy, its development opportunities and threats.
On October 27, 2017, active and former politicians met in our University to discuss the current state of the Polish economy, its development opportunities and threats.
The debate was attended by Mr. Mateusz Morawiecki, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Poland, Minister of Finance and Development, Ministers of Finance and Economy and Deputy Prime Ministers whose governments were in cabinet after 1989:

- Marek Borowski
- Henryk Goryszewski
- Janusz Piechociński
- Janusz Steinhoff
The initiator and host of the meeting was prof. Grzegorz W. Kolodko, Director of KU's TIGER Research Center, who served four times as Deputy Prime Minister and also as the Minister of Finance.
Rector prof. Witold Bielecki, opening the debate, pointed out that it takes place in the spirit of respecting different opinions and accomplishments.
Morawiecki repeatedly referred the achievements of previous governments, and their representatives were able to appreciate many of the positive actions of the current cabinet, particularly in the area of tax collection and sealing of the VAT(value-added tax) system.
