On 23 June 2016, in order to reaffirm its commitment to the principles of equality, ethical behaviour, freedom of research and transparency in recruitment, KU sent to the European Commission an official declaration of support for the principles enshrined in the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (the Charter and Code).
Conducting high-quality research, which contributes to the body of science both in Poland and internationally, is one of the main goals of KU. Innovative, important and international projects require an open and friendly environment in which academic staff can develop professionally; it is an aspect of utmost importance for KU.

In years 2015-2016 the internal gap analysis where conducted, which covered all regulations and processes in force in Poland and at KU that may have an impact on the fulfilment of obligations stemming from the Charter and Code. Regulations were confronted with the provisions of Open, Transparent and Merit-Based Recruitment (OTM-R) document as well.
In July 2016 the survey was conducted among all groups of academic staff at Kozminski University. Its aim was to collect employees' opinions about the conformity of regulations and practices in force at KU with the provisions of the Charter and Code. A report was subsequently sent to all members of academic staff at the beginning of September 2016.
The results of analyses and of the survey were combined, strengths and weaknesses identified, the main areas requiring attention were consulted, defined and the final version of the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers at Kozminski University and Action Plan were drawn up.
