ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
European Law Research Association in Poland (ELRA) was established in 1996. It gathers persons interested in the European Union criminal regulations. Only persons holding university degree in law may become members of the Association. The chairperson of the Association is at present Justice Lech K. Paprzycki, professor of the Kozminski University and until
Since 2000 the Association has focused on the analysis and research on the legal instruments aimed at protecting the financial interests of the European Union. At the beginning the activities of the Association included research and translation of the Corpus Juris draft. Both versions of the draft were translated into Polish by members of the ELRA (the first one was published by C.H. Beck Publishing House). Members of the ELRA also took part in the work of a group of experts preparing a study on the implementation of the Corpus Juris in the member and candidate states. In the following years the activities of the Association were expanded. Currently we study different legal instruments regarding the protection of the EU financial interests in the field of substantive criminal law, procedural criminal law and administrative law.
Organization of international scientific conferences has become a very important aspect of the Association’s activities. Conferences give an unique opportunity for Polish and foreign practitioners and academics to exchange views and experience. So far, with the financial support of European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) we have organized seven international conferences.
